10th Panhellenic Students’ Conference “Education for a smokefree generation”, Athens

The new generation is aware of their role on the current change of era in Greece. They leave back old-fashioned practices, while their fresh mindset and free-will are the tools to achieve new standards for world peace, environmental disaster, discrimination, access to education and health!

The 10th Panhellenic Students’ Conference “Education for a SMOKEFREE generation”, organized by the SMOKEFREEGREECE initiative under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Pr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, took place on November 26th, 2019, at the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs in Athens.

The Conference was attended by the Minister of Education & Religious Affairs, Mrs Niki Kerameos, the Minister of Health, Mr Vassilis Kikilias, the Deputy Minister of Culture & Sports, Mr Lefteris Avgenakis, the Regional Governor of Attica, Mr George Patoulis and the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mrs Marianna Vardinoyiannis.

H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Prokopios Pavlopoulos addressed to the Greek students encouraging them to avoid all kinds of addictions and focus on sports. He also congratulated and awarded all the winners of the 7th Panhellenic Students’ Competition, entitled “Say yes to sports! Say no to smoking!”.

 

This year’s event brought together more than 600 school students who presented and performed plays and music, inspired by their school health education on the prevention of smoking, supported by the SMOKEFREEGREECE educational program.
