The American College of Greece goes SMOKEFREE!
Under the support and guidance of the Institute of Public Health, the American College of Greece complies with the Greek anti-smoking law and recently announced that all types of smoking, including vaping, are prohibited in all indoor and outdoor College areas, as of September 1st, 2019. This policy applies to all ACG Community members (students, faculty, staff & employees), as well as parents, alumni and guests across all divisions (Pierce, Deree, Alba).
Apart from respecting the law and implementing a national regulation, currently in force, that promotes Public Health and protects the population from passive smoking, the institution’s upper goal is to remain an advocate of all things promoting good health and sustainability, but also to convince those engaged in this unhealthy habit to make a fresh start and choose life instead.
Prof. Panagiotis Behrakis and other members of the SMOKEFREEGREECE team have given numerous lectures to all ACG Community addressing to smoking health effects and underlining the advantages of a healthy lifestyle, without addictions.
