Dr. Vaso Evangelopoulou is an experienced physician, Pulmonologist and Intensivist. She is a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Medicine with a Doctoral degree from the same school. For twenty years (1988-2008), she worked as an Intensive Care physician in the ICU of Korgialenio-Benakion General Hospital of Athens. From 1993, she was also the responsible for the Respiratory Department including the Laboratory for lung function testing.
In 2008, she became Director of the ICU and head of the Respiratory Department and Smoking Cessation clinic at “Kyanous Stavros” hospital (2008-2015).
In 2012, she joined the Institute of Biomedical Research of the Academy of Athens as a researcher in the frame of the HEART program (2012-2015).
Since then she has been constantly involved in the organization of the yearly Panhellenic Student Conference and in 2016 as president of the organizing committee developed a successful conference.
A valuable part of the “George D. Behrakis Research Lab”-HCS team since the very beginning, she contributes her scientific and educational expertise to the LAB’s mission and aims.
Cultural with a special interest in tradition and customs, she published In 2015 her book “Babies’ sleep and lullabies”.
