The SMOKEFREEGREECE initiative also provides \u201cTrain-the-trainer\u201d workshops for parents, teachers and healthcare professionals in order to educate their students on tobacco prevention.<\/em><\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″ css=”.vc_custom_1500363029968{margin-top: 40px !important;}”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]\n

\u201cTrain-the-trainer\u201d Workshops for Tobacco Prevention<\/h3>\n

The half-day workshop consists of a theoretical<\/strong> followed by a practical session<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The theoretical session aims to educate teachers, parents and volunteers through scientifically based lectures on the health effects of smoking and passive smoking and the effective methods for prevention and cessation of smoking among school-aged children. During the\u00a0practical\u00a0session the participants are taught the methodology of the intervention followed by hands-on practice through a mock intervention using role play.<\/p>\n

The workshop has been approved by the Ministry of Education<\/strong>, Research and Religious Affairs<\/strong>. Participation is free of charge and all participants who complete the training receive a certificate at the end of the session.<\/p>\n

Over 2.000 teachers<\/strong>\u00a0and healthcare professionals<\/strong> have completed the \u201cTrain-the-trainer<\/strong>\u201d workshop cities all over Greece including in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Tripoli, Volos, Karditsa, Heraklion, Chios, Alexandroupolis, Ioannina and Chania.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
