Vergina Konstantina Vyzikidou was born in Athens, Greece. She is a licensed psychologist and holds a degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Masters degree in Health Promotion at the Athens School of Medicine with a focus on evaluation of smoking cessation interventions in high-risk groups. She completed an internship at the Mental Health Center of the General Hospital Asklepieio Voulas. She has also volunteered at the Addictions Prevention Center “Pronoi” of Kifisia. It was there she was trained in delivering health promotion interventions to school-aged children specifically aiming to prevent addiction. Vergina also volunteered at the Psychiatric Clinic of the “Attikon” University Hospital for two years in both adult and paediatric psychiatry (2014-2016).
She is currently a research assistant at the “George D Behrakis RESEARCH LAB” of the Hellenic Cancer Society working on TACK-SHS Work Packages 2,4, and 8 for health promotion interventions. Vergina is also a trained educator for the school-based intervention program entitled, “I learn not to smoke”, aimed at tobacco prevention in students of primary and secondary education in Greece.
